Rest assured, if you set aside 30 to 45 minutes every month to carry out your WordPress website maintenance items, it will not feel daunting.

First and foremost, before you do anything, back up your website. What starts off as a simple plug-in update can turn into a broken site in no time. Therefore, regular site back ups can ensure you can roll back to the last back up, should anything go wrong.
Your CMS or web hosting provider should have automatic site back ups in place. Check with them your website backup schedule before you carry out any major updates.
